VEO is the new Sheriff in Search Result Positioning
Try lassoing a full grown silver-back gorilla. You even get to use a good rope.
Some days thats what it feels like to work in the field of Search Engine Optimization. Google is the massive leader who does not take roping easily. Once they know you have an angle, if it is not in line with the “vision of search” they are promoting, you can bet you will be re-working your websites.
It used to be all about keywords, and it still is, but it’s changed. Google is now a 5th grade student, and if you offer content about your topic that a 5th grader would get confused reading, you better not count on top placement. There are many factors of course to why a listing gets top placement, and content is the king.
Page load speed, internal website linking with relevant longer tail keywords, external linking with higher page ranked sites, all are good, but content is and has been King for quite a while. Why?
Content dominated the visitor experience. The visitor experience is measured in several ways, one of which is the time spent on your pages. Did you know Google measures this and considers it important? How about listing goals in the Google analytics application they offer. Did you know that if your content is great, and you list the goals you want met, and you meet those goals as Google tracks them, it influences your ranking? Why?
Again, Visitor Experience. When you allow them to look into everything with their tracking software, and you tell them what the visitor is supposed to do, and the visitor does what you want them to most of the time, this is the heart of relevance. This is where you state what your intentions are in a creative expression through content and goal setting.
The visitor tells Google what you are worth to them.
Google understands your videos, your words, your audios, your design, and compares your VEO to your competition.
Google listens.
